What is Sunday School
Our heart for God’s family at ELC is that God’s people will be equipped, trained, and released to do what He has purposed for them. Sunday School is an important tool in this process. It is where we endeavor to lay strong and deep foundations in the Bible that are long-lasting and can be passed down from generation to generation. From these foundations we can build faithfulness, character, and ongoing transformation into our lives. With this in mind, we have focused our studies in one of three broad areas of emphasis:
- Bible foundations: verse by verse studies of the Bible itself, usually in correlation with the passage being covered in the sermon that Sunday.
- Spiritual growth: studies that would tend to focus on spiritual disciplines and the practical outworking of our spiritual lives, with a focus toward spiritual maturity.
- Practical aspects of everyday living: topics like money, marriage, raising children, etc. (Any suggestions?)
Our desire is to have children's Bible classes running con-currently with the adults. Our children need to be taught. This would also allow more young families to attend.
